BL702, bl_mcu_sdk, ble_pds: ble_assert_err when connecting

Hi,
I am trying to evaluate power-down suspend mode for FreeRTOS/BLE cases. Seems ble_pds in examples is perfect match for it. But I have a problem when I try to connect to bl702iot EVK from my mobile phone.

I use SiFive toolchain from bl_iot_sdk and the following command to compile the example:
make build APP=ble_pds BOARD=bl702_iot SUPPORT_BLECONTROLLER_LIB=m0s1p SUPPORT_FAST_WAKEUP=y SUPPORT_HW_SEC_ENG_DISABLE=y SUPPORT_FLOAT=y

Also, I have tried T-Head toolchains, gcc version 8.4.0 (T-HEAD RISCV Tools V1.10.4 B20210120) and gcc version 10.2.0 (Xuantie Xuantie-900 elf newlib gcc Toolchain V2.0.3 B-20210806), but FW hangs after "Start adv" message.

Can you suggest a way to make it work?

One more detail, I observe the same assertion on bl706_iot EVK also

I have managed to start advertisement successfully for binaries built using t-head toolchain.
With this change... I have an idea something is wrong with the alignment is this structure resides on the stack or bt_le_adv_start copies the pointer and BT stack re-use it again. But I could be wrong.

The problem with assertion still persist (BL706IOT).

Regarding BL702IOT board, I don't see the advertisement in nRF Connect scan results. I have tried to plug external antenna, but still no luck.

Hello,

You need use ble_pds project, this project provide ble sleepmode demo at ble connectioned state. This sleep mode must use externel 32k crystal.

Hi, Alvin.
we use exactly ble_pds project, clocks/peripherals/FreeRTOS are configured properly. We use official bl702iot and bl706iot boards, so crystal is there.
Also, we have tried bl_iot_sdk. Methinks it is better to open separate discussion about it, I will post my findings later today.__

sure this change is already pulled from github. I have tried to revert it, but result is the same.

JFYI I have applied the similar change to examples/ble/ble_peripheral/CMakeLists.txt and it works fine.

One more observation: I was able to connect by using nRF Connect auto-connect and resetting the board periodically.
Connected successfully only before entering PDS, when advertising is just enabled.
